I moved to the Netherlands in 2017. The last paintings I made in Iran have a flat and passive background and have no time and place. With only focus on the connection between the various elements within each painting.
In Iran I used limited colors for my paintings; black, white, green and red. In these paintings the substantive emphasis is on protest. I used metaphors and codes to help viewers understand the message of my paintings.
Since I moved to the Netherlands my work has changed. I use currently many more colors and the background of my paintings is active. I am developing this way of painting and I enjoy it.
